Penelope Merced has headed MidCap Financial’s Information Technology department since 2016, providing leadership in technology, cybersecurity, and solutions development.
Penelope’s nearly two decades of experience include leading an enterprise strategic consulting team at Dataprise, while serving as a CIO/CISO consultant to various businesses in the Washington, D.C., area. Penelope held various IT leadership positions with Chelsea Technologies, a financial IT consulting firm in New York, where she served as a Managing Director of IT client services. Prior to her management roles, Penelope practiced IT systems and security engineering for 10 years. Penelope holds an MS in management of IT (MSMIT) from the University of Virginia and a BS in information technology, with various certifications in technology and cybersecurity.
