As a seasoned structured credit banker, Michael Cheng is a senior member of our Lender Finance group focused on efforts to source, and underwrite asset-backed financing transactions, which are attractive on a risk-adjusted basis.
Mr. Cheng has over two decades of experience in structured credit, including 12 years with Deutsche Bank as a senior banker in its Asset Finance and Securitization groups focused on bank financing and capital markets underwriting transactions related to esoteric and emerging asset classes. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Cheng was engaged in origination and structuring roles for WestLB’s structured finance group, as well as serving as a new issuance ratings analyst at Standard & Poor’s, primarily focusing on consumer receivables backed securitizations. Mr. Cheng holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.P.P. from Harvard University.
