Bernard (Bernie) Lajeunesse is a Managing Director and Product Head of MidCap’s Franchise Finance lending group. Mr. Lajeunesse has 30 years of diversified lending experience across multiple business sectors. Prior to MidCap’s acquisition of PNC Bank’s Franchise Finance Business, Mr. Lajeunesse led that business for PNC and prior to that for ECN Capital. He was also the prior President of United Capital Business Lending and Healthcare Business Credit Corp. He has a B.S. in Management and Finance from LaSalle University and graduated from Harvard’s Advanced Management Program (AMP 170).
Douglas McKenzie is a Managing Director for MidCap’s Franchise Finance lending group. Prior to joining MidCap, Mr. McKenzie held various commercial finance leadership roles including SVP Franchise at PNC Bank and Specialty Finance Leader at CIT Finance LLC. Mr. McKenzie has over 22 years of experience in originations, structuring and syndication in franchise, aircraft, and real estate. Mr. McKenzie holds a B.A. from Queen’s University, M.B.A. from University of Manitoba, and M.A. in Security Studies from University of St Andrews in Scotland.
John Bunch is a Director and Originations Officer for MidCap’s Franchise Finance lending group. Mr. Bunch has over 20 years of experience originating, negotiating, structuring and closing all types of senior debt facilities within the restaurant Franchise Finance space. Prior to joining MidCap, Mr. Bunch worked for GE Capital Franchise for 10 years and PNC Franchise Finance for five years. Mr. Bunch holds a B.A. in International Relations/Economics from Colgate University.
Robert Leon is currently a Director with MidCap’s Franchise Finance lending group. Mr. Leon has 25 years experience in originations, underwriting, and portfolio management. Prior to joining MidCap, Mr. Leon held sales positions with PNC, CIT, and Pacific Premier Bank. Mr. Leon holds an M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University and a B.S. from University of Southern California.
Josh Conlon is responsible for originating and structuring finance solutions for growth-oriented franchisees in multiple geographies and concepts. Prior to joining MidCap, Mr. Conlon provided franchisee financing at PNC and Citizen’s Bank. Mr. Conlon has additional financial industry experience in the private equity and destressed debt sectors. Mr. Conlon graduated from the University of Massachusetts Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Business Management and Corporate Finance and a minor in Economics.
Chris Jones is currently a Director in MidCap’s Franchise Finance lending group. Prior to joining MidCap, Mr. Jones worked in various sales, underwriting and portfolio management roles at CIT Group, TD Bank and GE Capital. He has a combined 15 years of finance experience with the last 10 focused solely on the restaurant finance industry. Mr. Jones holds a BBA from Ohio University with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.
